Statement to voters

I am standing for election in Sanderstead because our community deserves a councillor who will stand up for local residents, protect what makes this area special, and ensure we receive the services we pay for.

Full statement

For too long, Croydon residents have been asked to pay more and accept less: soaring council tax, crumbling roads and pavements, unreliable waste collection, and a Town Hall that often fails to listen.

Sanderstead contributes heavily to the borough, yet too often we are taken for granted. That must change.

I believe in competence, accountability and value for money, and I will work tirelessly to make sure Sanderstead gets its fair share. I will campaign for proper investment in our roads and pavements, stronger action on crime and anti-social behaviour, and real protection for our green spaces from inappropriate development.

This campaign is about restoring pride, common sense and trust in local government. Residents deserve clean streets, safer neighbourhoods and better local services. I will fight for improved bus and transport links, more effective street cleaning, tougher action on fly-tipping and littering, and greater police visibility so people feel safe in every part of our ward.

I will also challenge waste and mismanagement wherever I find it. Croydon cannot continue to spend more while delivering less. Every pound of taxpayers’ money should be spent wisely and transparently, with residents’ priorities coming first.

On a personal level, I bring extensive senior-level experience of cutting through public sector waste and bureaucracy, helping local businesses grow and building strong relationships with many of London’s key organisations. That experience gives me the knowledge, determination and contacts to get things done and deliver practical results for Sanderstead.

I will work closely with residents, schools, community groups and the police to tackle local problems and find practical solutions. Above all, I will be an independent-minded, hardworking voice for Sanderstead: standing up for families, protecting our environment and making sure local people are heard.

With your support, we can bring real change to Croydon and build a better future for Sanderstead.
