I am pleased to stand as Green Party candidate for Wolverton Ward in the city council elections on 7th May.

I want to use my experiences as a professional Community Organiser, currently working for Cycling Citizens MK, to make decisions which help our city grow sustainably. I have enjoyed knocking on doors locally to get views about what needs to be done, and I am thankful for the support so many people across Wolverton Ward have shown.

Originally from London, I have lived nearly half my life in Wolverton, raising with my wife Kate three lovely children and making loads of friends in the area. I feel lucky. As a former governor of two local schools and long-time trustee of Old Bath House community centre, I know the area well. As a Green Party member since the 1980s, I hold closely the values of ecological wisdom and social justice. As an experienced Community Organiser, I have the skills to deliver change and can help the council achieve greater environmental sustainability and fairer health outcomes across the city.

I believe global warming and biodiversity loss are a real threat to us all and we must act together now - as citizens and consumers - so our children and theirs can live at least as safely as we have. Working for Cycling Citizens MK, the alliance of business, education and community organisations, I have seen a lack of councillor leadership on active travel. It’s not fair some people can’t get around easily. This is an opportunity to improve the physical and mental health of residents. I will do more to make this happen at ward and city level.
