Statement to voters
In this election the people of Jarrow can strengthen Theresa May’ s mandate through the vital Brexit negotiations ahead – and with the same vote bring in change and a new approach locally.
If elected, I commit to:
l Working closely with local people, businesses, organisations and authorities to seek new solutions to long-running issues.
That includes fair and equal access to local employment opportunities, good schools, training and apprenticeships for young people and those looking for jobs, well-thought out planning and housing provision which protects precious Green Belt and proper reviews of access to local healthcare provision;
:: Being visible and available locally, hearing people’s concerns, and keeping them informed of what I am doing for them. I will have an office in the constituency.
:: I will use my thirty years’ experience in central government and the private sector to deliver results for constituents.
:: Representing proudly the people of Jarrow as a strong voice in the region and in Parliament.
That includes supporting Theresa May’s commitments to secure the best Brexit deal for the UK, with access to the global opportunities that lie beyond.
We want to build a country that works for all – which I will ensure includes Jarrow.
This is a critical moment for our country.
We have the opportunity to step into a new future, full of opportunities.
We also need strong and experienced government, led by Theresa May, to manage the challenges – including threats to our national security, as we have so tragically been recently reminded.
A Conservative vote on June 8 offers the people of Jarrow two choices in one – supporting Theresa May’s team in the Brexit negotiations ahead, as well as choosing me to bring change and a new approach locally.
