Having come to this country for university nearly 15 years ago, for the last few years, I have
proudly made Bromley my home.

Full statement

Having lived in various parts of the borough I currently live
right in the town centre which is also the ward I am running in. All of us who are Bromley
residents should be proud of living in one of the greenest boroughs in London and should
fight to keep it that way at all costs. Granted, those who work multiple jobs or cut back on
basic necessities to make ends meet this may not find this a priority. I recognize that green
initiatives locally and nationally must go hand in hand with fair and just economic system
which I believe that the Green Party offers. Bromley town centre is beautiful and vibrant, but
we all have seen the devastating effects of drug addiction in the ward especially on the high
street. The current drug policy has failed to address this issue adequately, so I believe that
the Green Party approach of treating drug addiction as a public health issue is the only way
forward. I have previous experience of working in community development outside the
borough and I have first hand experience of seeing the impact that local projects have on the
wellbeing of a community. I am staunchly anti-racist and I have previously volunteered for
anti-racism organizations. I aim to represent all residents of Bromley town, work hard to
maintain our green spaces, improve our social services and guarantee equal access to them
for all residents.
