Hello, my name is Matthew, and I am standing as a Green Party candidate because I believe deeply in building a fairer, more sustainable future for our communities.

I came to work in Thetford over a decade ago and fell in love with the region and so we moved here and made it our home. My professional life has given me a wide range of experiences of different industries and company sizes and a stint working for myself. I think this has given me some appreciation of the challenges faced by local employers, workers, and the self employed alike.

In recent years, my work has focused on energy management and sustainability, helping organisations reduce their environmental impact while improving resilience and efficiency. I now work at the University of East Anglia in this field, which keeps me closely connected to the pragmatic, evidence based solutions we need to address the climate and energy crises facing our community.

I am standing in this election because I want to bring that practical experience, along with a long held commitment to Green values, to the service of local residents. If elected, I will listen carefully, work collaboratively, and speak up for those who might otherwise go unheard.
