I’m Sally and I grew up in Norfolk. I lived, worked, and brought up a family in different parts of the UK; but I chose to return to my roots, because I love the unique countryside, beaches, nature, and the wealth of history here.

I want to help preserve all of this, whilst helping local people and the farming community with the challenges created by climate change, new energy initiatives and planned new housing developments, which require appropriate infrastructure.

I feel it is important to try to maintain local shops and businesses so that market towns like Swaffham don’t lose their identity. I also believe that local people need to be heard when new developments are planned and I would do my best to see this happens.

My background is in teaching in adult education and helping adults returning to education fulfil their potential. I have also worked in family learning and am keen to see initiatives that break intergenerational poverty and lack of opportunity. I currently work with SEN children and see the value of good provision for all children.

Outside of work I’m the organiser of a local social group with hundreds of members. I love bringing people together, as living in rural communities can be isolating. I recognise the value of creating networks of support and community links.
