Full statement
At 16 he flew gliders and single propeller aircraft solo in the RAF Scholarship he gained at 18. He gained his commission as Pilot Officer in the RAF and flew the Jet Provost solo and the Vickers Varsity and the HS125 Dominie jet as navigator. The Defence cost cuts finished his career early in less than three years.
A period at IBM was followed by Reading University for a science degree in Psychology, Physiology & Biochemistry and Zoology – graduating with a good B.Sc. Vacation work paid the rent but also introduced Stephen to ICL, the UK computer company he joined post graduation and where he trained as a technical author, and then as copy writer in ICL’s Head Office in Putney. He joined the National Computing Centre gaining sales experience of software, education & standards. In 1974 he joined BIS in Waterloo where he He established the sales team, the marketing team and, thanks to his psychology knowledge, grew the Aptitude Testing activity to a significant revenue with UK sales and his European clients.
In 1989 Stephen created two Putney-based companies, TTI providing experienced IT trainers for the Spanish market and another providing consulting, training and documentation: CHL. As an English & French speaking consultant and documentation specialist he produced high quality web sites (HBS for FIFA), documentation, training courses and videos on time and on budget. He developed and / or used documentation standards for complex financial and technology organisations and training staff in using many software tools in ten European countries.
He produced clear and concise calls for tender, proposals, reports, business plans, procedures, help systems and websites for international clients in finance, telecommunications & IT, broadcasting, tourism and in European administration.
Now retired, he has given much time to younger people for an international Twinning website, CVs and practical psychological advice and instruction. For several years now the loyalty and pride of Britain has been severely damaged, leading to Stephen's wish to be a part of a new, strong and enthusiastic political party.
To be communicating further about what so many of Britain want – fulfilling the aims often stated by other parties but not implemented, as well as dealing with today’s issues of defence, immigration, energy and motivation of the young.
There is so much to do locally too of course, correcting errors with honesty, managing finances, with clearer, stronger and fairer objectives for the 327,000+ people of Wandsworth – the Reform UK Party. Stephen's personal work experience with many companies and governance both in UK local and European countries (including the European Commission), would be focussed on the needs of people of the Shaftesbury Queenstown ward and Wandsworth.
