Andy Parr has a masters in Business Adminstration and is a qualified Anti-Money Laundering specialist.

He served with the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer travelling the globe. He has visited both Polar Regions, the West Indies and all over Europe and the Baltic region.
In 1992 he joined West Yorkshire Police. As a constable he was a self-defence instructor and a firearms officer. On promotion to Sergeant he served at Deighton in Huddersfield leading a response and community team. He then led the Street Crime Initiative and moved into CID. He was promoted to Detective Inspector and has managed several serious and organised crime investigations including homicide.
He improved the Kirklees police detection rate to 26% and reduced gun crime in the district by 56%. He led a change programme in the district saving £15 million by re-organising policing response, crime allocation and investigation.In 2015 he deployed to Afghanistan to mentor an Afghan Colonel in criminal intelligence.
In 2018 in moved to the Cayman Islands working in Anti-Money laundering, protecting the international financial system from criminal abuse.
Andy is running for the Ashbrow ward in Kirklees on a ticket of improving policing services and community safety.
