I was a physics teacher until 2024, and I loved working with young people. I left the profession after seeing the lasting impact of Covid-19 on young people’s education, and feeling frustrated trying to close the attainment gap with consistent underfunding from the government.
I now work at a charity focusing on sexual violence prevention through education, visiting schools across the country and training teachers. I have previously led improvements to gender-inclusive teaching, as I firmly believe education should be accessible to all, no matter their identity or socioeconomic background. I am not afraid to challenge structures and systems to push for meaningful change.
I grew up in East London and have lived in Redbridge with my family for the last 16 years. This is my home. I see my friends, family and neighbours struggling with the cost of living, cuts to public services and poor transport links. I want to do something about this, because we all deserve better.
