Statement to voters
I have been your Independent Woking Borough Councillor for the last 2.5 years, representing 'The Byfleets' as part of the Byfleet 3 Bees team (Bond, Boote and Bridgeman). I have lived in Byfleet for over 20 years and truly care about our villages , like you. I am passionate about listening to your needs and giving those a strong voice. My other key passion is to protect our Green Belt. I am not affiliated to a political party because I do not want to have to toe a party line. I want what's best for us! Becoming your County Councillor would be a great honour and would enable me to do an even better job by having representation at both of our Councils. The are currently 9 Independents on Surrey County Council and my election would mean that the Independents would then be the main opposition group. I intend to tackle the severe cuts that SCC are proposing to schools, libraries, special needs services, our Children's Centre and our much neglected roads. I worked closely with Richard Wilson, our previous County Councillor, who so sadly passed away recently. He will be a hard act to follow!
