Barry is a long time resident and Lemington ward Councillor who has supported thousands of people across Lemington ward since first elected in the early 1990’s.

Barry was involved in the delivery of Newburn Riverside Business Park, he worked very closely with the Friends of Lemington to deliver The Lemington Centre and provide continued support to them, he also worked closely with South West Denton Tenants and Residents Association to resolve problems and support tenants during the modernisation of their estate.

Barry works with local residents’ groups, community projects, schools and the local community for many years. His work included projects to improve the environment, helping to secure funding for youth services, tackling anti-social behaviour by coordinating community safety days with Northumbria Police, housing officers, and the Fire Service.

Having lived in Lemington for most of my life, I care deeply about the area and our community.
