Full statement
A first-generation migrant, active trade unionist and long-time campaigner, he wants to build on that culture of care in local government. Rimil is standing because he believes the council should be more open, more democratic and more closely connected to the communities it serves. He wants to create more ways for residents to shape local decisions and will support stronger grassroots networks across the borough. His priorities include participation, mutual support, dignity, and protecting the local environment for future generations.
Politics for Rimil are about looking out for the most vulnerable people and ensuring that the local infrastructure and services work in their favour, providing support they need. If elected, he will be a hard-working local councillor who is there for local residents to support them with their issues.
