Statement to voters
I am a mother to 3 young children, and I am building a creative, inclusive community for the young people of Redbridge.
Full statement
Our workshops promote the “kids teach kids” model, giving children the opportunity to enjoy a variety of creative activities while making empowering connections. Part of my profits are regularly donated to the Redbridge food bank to help them in the fantastic work they do for the community.
I have worked for small businesses, supporting them in their operations in various capacities. I have also worked for a short period of time in the banking sector. I currently serve as a School Governor at a prestigious local grammar school and recently supported a community project that offers digital literacy provisions to residents, especially from disadvantaged backgrounds.
I have lived in Redbridge for more than 25 years, and I thoroughly understand residents’ struggles, whether that is delayed appointments, long waiting times or rising cost of living.
I stand for public consultations to be held for every important decision surrounding the community, where we build trust between the residents and the council, whether that includes the SEND provisions or more support for small local businesses.
We need a peaceful and united Wanstead Village in these divisive times. I am here to facilitate that with more accountability and transparency. We need better engagement between residents and local councillors to achieve the best for everyone.
For me, cohesion and integration are the heart of any thriving community, and since coming back from a career break after the birth of my son, I want work around multiple avenues that entirely benefit the community and open opportunities for all residents.
I have been fortunate enough to make a meaningful contribution to the local community, which has enabled me to understand where the gaps are and how we can fulfil those gaps. I am keen to actively support Wanstead Village, hence I have chosen to stand as the local council candidate because I truly believe that politics can truly begin to serve everyday people under the Green Party.
