Statement to voters

I am a former health journalist now working as a health regulator adviser.

Full statement

I live in Wanstead Park with my husband and two grown-up daughters who went to
Nightingale, Aldersbrook and Wanstead High Schools.

Before joining the Greens, I was chair of Wanstead Park Labour Branch and left
Labour after many months of frustration and anger over Gaza and austerity with the
final straw being Keir Starmer’s speech on immigration.

I am of Irish descent and grew up in a south London council house where I was the
first in my family to go to university, studying politics at York.

My father was a hospital porter, and I am keen to ensure others benefit from the
same life opportunities I had.

I am an active member of Wanstead Climate Action attending their meetings, hosting
their high street stand and was earlier this month selected to be their spokesperson
for the full council debate where a ‘Nature Emergency’ was declared.

This statement was added by Sue Whitehead, their team, or by a Democracy Club volunteer, based on information published by the candidate elsewhere.
