Statement to voters

I was raised in Kensington, and this community has shaped who I am.

Full statement

I’ve seen first hand the challenges families face, and I’ve spent years working locally to support residents and strengthen our neighbourhood. I chaired our local residents’ association for two and a half years, led our Area Review Board, worked in RBKC’s voluntary sector, and carried out casework for our former MP, Emma Dent Coad. These experiences have grounded my commitment to listening, acting, and delivering for our community.

I founded Homemade Teachers, an organisation that supports parents in helping their children succeed and better understand the primary curriculum. This is because when families are empowered, our whole community thrives. As a teacher, I’ve taken GCSE students abroad to broaden their horizons and explore different cultures. I also volunteered internationally during my gap year in North India and organised annual excursions to Spain, experiences that deepened my commitment to equality, opportunity, and global responsibility.

I am a graduate of Queen Mary University of London, with a postgraduate degree from the University of Cambridge, specialising in Geography and Education. I bring a strong commitment to social and environmental justice.

It would be a privilege to represent the residents of Dalgarno Ward. I am determined to ensure that the voices of those living in the north of the borough are heard, and that every concern is met with fairness and persistence.

At the moment we are being let down.

The council’s recent low grading from the social housing regulator highlights serious failures to meet Decent Homes standards. This is unacceptable, especially in a ward where more than 65% of residents live in social housing. Everyone deserves a safe, warm, and healthy home. Without it, our health, our children’s education, and our opportunities all suffer.

Together, we can achieve.

Let’s build a greener, fairer, and more compassionate future for Dalgarno.
