Statement to voters

Paul is concerned about the drug and gang problems in this area. His top priority is to make the streets safer, such as when he helped to launch the Neighbourhood Watch scheme at Jubilee Park, Rendlesham Road.
Paul often escalates problems to the top of local councils and businesses. As a music lover and former DJ, Paul has been an active campaigner across the area for many years, listening to residents in order to help out.
Paul says “As we struggle to pay off Labour’s debt, I can't believe Labour is still in power in Ipswich, ruining the town which I have loved since my childhood. Educated in Ipswich, I enjoyed team games including rugby and football, and also learned the trumpet, which gave me confidence to help others.
“I am a people person, and welcome everyone to Ipswich, no matter what their background. We must all get on and help our neighbours. As a child, I enjoyed the cubs and scout movement, especially weekends away camping under the stars. I want older people to remain active, by helping to run activities for young people and pass on their experience of life and help train young people to better equip them for adult life. I lead countryside group walks to retain fitness, and hopefully reduce demands on the NHS.
“As a member of the Ipswich Hospital and St Peter's Band, we raise money supporting local charities, including Lighthouse Women's Refuge. We need to keep our streets safe at night for women, and all members of our community."
Several areas of our Town, including Gipping, have seen an increase in violent crime. Why has Ipswich Borough Council spent over £100,000 on community projects in South-East Ipswich and ignored us? You deserve more and Pauls’ experience of community work will ensure Gipping gets it's fair share of funding.
Did you know that parking enforcement is totally the responsibility of the Borough Council yet they consistently fail to enforce the rules in our community? I promise to be a strong voice at the Council and liaise with my Conservative County colleagues to seek solutions to ease congestion.
Gipping Ward has had 3 Labour Borough Councillors and 1 Labour County Councillor for many years. What real improvements have you seen in the area during this time? Change is needed to make sure your views are well represented: if Paul is elected, he will bring the change this area needs and will be a forceful voice at the council.
