Rupert Knowles is a retired horticulture and development professional living in Lower Harlestone.

2021 is his final year as Chair of Daventry Liberal Democrats. He joined the Young Liberals in 1961.
His career encompassed running a family fruit farm, training and advising growers on pest and disease management and irrigation, teaching horticulture in China and consulting in Afghanistan on horticulture and forestry projects funded by UK, Canada, USA and EU. Rupert has also worked in Bulgaria, Zimbabwe, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
As a councillor, Rupert would be particularly active on rural infrastructure, climate and the environment and promoting understanding of the countryside.
