Statement to voters
It has been a privilege to have served as your local councillor since 2007. In that time I have worked in many of the Council’s committees and working groups, and in the Cabinet, but my particular emphasis has been on planning and health. As Chair of the East Area Planning Committee and Vice Chair of the main Planning Committee, I deal with both local and strategic issues. I am keen to protect our local environment, especially open spaces, from inappropriate development.
I fight hard to protect our community hospitals and local health services. I am Chair of the Friends of Thames Ditton Hospital at Emberbrook and a strong supporter of Molesey Community Hospital, having been closely involved in the campaign that saved it from closure.
If re-elected I will continue to exert a positive influence on the way in which our local area deals with the many challenges ahead. I consider that Improving the quality of all aspects of our environment, and the services and opportunities which are available to us and our families, is central to serving as a local councillor. I very much hope I can continue to do this over the next four years.
