After a long career as a train driver, he also took on responsibility as a Regional Health and Safety Representative for ASLEF, always standing up for the wellbeing of others.
David has dedicated decades to public service. He has served on Immingham Town Council since 2000 and was elected to North East Lincolnshire Council in 2012. During that time, he took on a number of key leadership roles, including Standards Chair, Cabinet Member for Environment, Tourism and Highways, and Finance Portfolio Holder. He also served as Deputy Leader and, for a period, Leader of the Council, helping to guide important decisions for the area.
He is especially proud of the practical improvements he has delivered for Immingham. From securing a service agreement to ensure regular grass cutting and litter picking across the town, to working on the approval of the Immingham Bypass to reduce heavy goods traffic on Pelham Road, David has always focused on making everyday life better for residents.
Even now, as a Town Councillor, David continues to be a trusted and approachable figure in the community. Residents still turn to him for help with local issues, and he works hard to resolve their concerns wherever he can. His deep local knowledge, commitment, and passion for Immingham make him a strong and dedicated advocate for the town and its people.
