Statement to voters

"I’ve lived in Hatfield for over 20 years and represented you on the County Council and Hatfield Town Council, since 2017. I work in Public health and previously was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire.

I spoke against the incinerator in Hatfield, and have recently spoken at the Wel Hat Local Plan Inquiry for keeping Ellenbrook Park. I held two meetings on this – one with residents and one with Councillors to help facilitate the community petition.

The roads in Salisbury village and Hatfield Garden village had not been adopted for 18 years, when I was elected; but I have worked hard since then, to get 26 of the 44 roads adopted and the rest are now well on the way. I care about building community in this area, with more facilities and getting the best for you in Hatfield Villages.

I have listened to your complaints about parking, noise, fly tipping, and there are many housing and development issues which I want to follow up for our community – but to do that I need a seat at the table!

I stand for building the forgotten infrastructure – including shops, a GP practice, pharmacy, and an adequate hall for residents to meet. Ellenbrook Park has not been landscaped and plans for the Trust have been neglected for 18 years, allowing a quarry to be proposed, which may jeopardise our public water supply.

Yet again the Conservatives have forced massive cuts to our budgets, cuts facilitated by this Conservative council. You pay more but get a whole lot less. I want to change that."
