Danny Clarke's policies

Statement to voters

I have lived in Runcorn for more than 20 years.

Full statement

I am extremely passionate about protecting our Greenbelt. I am also passionate about protecting hard pressed families. I believe that Universal credit needs reforming, in order for it to work better. I also want to help working families and working people by increasing the tax threshold from the present £12,570 to £20,000. I also want to help middle earners who are on the 40p tax rate by decreasing it from 40p gradually down to 25p. The Conservative government should be ashamed for increasing the retirement age to 66. A report has suggested it should go up to 71. This is wrong. If I am elected I will do everything in my power to have it reduced back to 65.
