Statement to voters
I moved to the Highlands in 2005 after finishing University. I have been self employed since making the move north, having previously run a small hotel on the Moray Coast, I now run The Wishing Well Card & Gift Shop and Grantown Post Office with my wife.
Since taking over the shop in 2010 I have been involved with various community groups and projects in Grantown-on-Spey.
I am currently Vice Chair of The Grantown Initiative (Community Company) with responsibility for the community website project as well as creation of a bus replacement service to link Grantown-on-Spey and Broomhill station.
As a part of the Grantown Business Association, for the last 3 years I have helped to coordinate the annual Thunder in the Glens event in Grantown.
Both my current day job and my work with community organisations has given me a good understanding of the needs of the community and has equipped me with the tools to help people and businesses in Badenoch and Strathspey.
