Glen was born in London and qualified as a Solicitor specialising in defamation work for a specialist legal practice where he was a Partner before running the in-house legal department of Mirror Group Newspapers.

He had some earlier experience as a legal advisor to the oil and gas sector in Aberdeen. Glen has extensive work experience abroad engaging with non governmental organisations in and emerging from conflict scenarios, from a human rights and empowerment perspective. Glen has a Doctorate in Theology and has tutored in Christian Studies at the University of Aberdeen.He has lived in Aberdeenshire since 2007 and worked at Aberdeenshire Council in the Housing Service before being elected as a Councillor for Banff and District Ward in 2017, re-elected in 2022. He has been a Director of Grampian Housing. He is the opposition lead on the Council’s Communities Cttee.Glen says “The protection of energy jobs in a long term sustainable oil and gas sector transitioning into renewables is a paramount importance for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine. Brexit and fourteen years of Tory austerity has significantly impacted on this large rural community with the cost of living, transport connectivity and health provision as serious challenges.”Glen lives in Alford in the constituency of West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine with his partner and her family.
