Statement to voters

A proud mother and widow whose life has been defined by resilience, hard work and an unshakeable commitment to building a better future.

Full statement

Born in Iraq, I came to the United Kingdom to complete my education, to rebuild my life and secure a future for my family.

Starting again from nothing was not easy. As a single mother, I faced the realities of hardship, responsibility, and sacrifice but I refused to let those challenges define my limits. Instead, I turned them into strengths

Through determination and discipline, I earned a Master’s degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Glasgow University, one of the UK’s leading institutions. I achieved this while raising my children alone, proving that no barrier is too great when you are driven to succeed.

My journey is not theoretical, it is lived. I know what it means to struggle with the cost of living, to carry responsibility alone, and to fight for opportunities that others take for granted. That is why I stepped into politics: not for status, but for change.

I stand for hard-working families, for single parents, for those who feel unheard, and for communities that have been left behind. I believe in accountability, fairness, and restoring trust between people and those who represent them.

I am not a career politician. I am someone who has lived the challenges and is ready to fight for solutions.
