Building on her campaigning with Women for Independence, with her colleagues Katy worked to bring groundbreaking policies on period poverty and the menopause to the Council chamber.Passionate about the transformative power of education and lifelong learning, she is currently campaigning to protect local library services and community facilities.Born and raised in Ayrshire, Katy moved to Lanarkshire in 2009, and lives in Rutherglen with her husband, teenaged children, and elderly cat.She enjoys live music and smashing things – upcycling scrap tiles and glass to make mosaics and stained glass.
