Statement to voters
I know that many ordinary people are fed up with 'politics as usual'. So am I.
They are tired of the 'big two' parties and their inaction on the issues people face in their daily lives. More and more voters are switching their votes away from the main parties to send a message that things need to change.
Our voting system means that many people feel their votes don't count. We would implement voting reform and put an end to 'safe seats'.
A Green vote is the most powerful vote you can cast in this election.
We need a huge change in how government is tackling the biggest issue of our time - the climate emergency.
The Green Party has a vision to transform our society and by offering a Green New Deal - we would boost our economy and provide secure, well paid employment. We would invest in our public services and local communities.
People know that when they vote Green, they are casting a vote for a candidate who works hard for their community and who is guided by values of honesty and integrity.
I have been an active community campaigner who has worked hard to protect our struggling services and give a voice to local people and their concerns.
In May, I became Charnwood's first elected Green councillor with a record 59% of the vote. We also achieved an incredible second place result in Syston reducing the Conservative majority to just 17 votes These historic results show that people in Charnwood are ready to vote Green.
Only a vote for the Green Party will ensure that the big parties take real action on the real issues.
