Former president of a UK Human Rights organisation and campaigner for soil and water sustainability across the globe. Jan says "Felixstowe Coastal has been my home for decades and it has the potential to be glorious except we have food banks, no new proper housing for our young folk and a coastline seriously at risk from projects further up the coast. On the surface Felixstowe Coastal looks amazing but just scratch a little further beneath the Tory Gloss and you will find hardship and such sad tales of loss and deprivation- it need not be this way. Local government can improve all aspects of society if funds are administered to those who need it in a way which enhances not just those in receipt of a helping hand but also inspire future generations to live with hope, not despair. Even if you are one of the lucky ones skipping across The Gloss- do you not wonder why your beach hut cannot get onto the beach?"
