Statement to voters

Clio is a mother to three wonderful children—aged 12, 10, and 4—who keep me on her one her toes despite the hectic pace, it’s all part of the joy and privilege of being a parent.

Full statement

Clio trained in opera performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, and this background led her to live a very varied life. Her journey has taken her to many parts of the UK, but it was in Lincolnshire where Clio found the perfect place to put down roots and build a future for her family.
Clio has now been here for nearly 13 years, and still sometimes forgets just how friendly and welcoming people are. The views are stunning, and the opportunities found here are incredible.
One of the most rewarding experiences has been becoming a swimming teacher. Teaching children from ages 0 to 14 a life-saving skill has been a truly fulfilling way to contribute to our community. It’s not just about swimming—it’s about equipping young people with the confidence and skills they need to stay safe in the water and beyond.
In addition to the roles of mother and swimming teacher, Clio has had the honor of serving as a county councillor for the last eight years, with a particular focus on supporting highways, transport, and IT. It’s been incredibly rewarding to play a part in protecting and maintaining the 5,500 miles of road that form the lifeblood of Lincolnshire. Our roads connect villages, towns, and families, allowing essential services to move and ensuring that our county remains a place where people can thrive.
Clio is proud to have contributed, however small, to the safety and wellbeing of those who call this wonderful county home. Each role Clio has taken on—whether in family life, work as a swimming teacher or service as a councillor—has reinforced Cliodls belief in the importance of community and the power of working together.

Clio lived in Gainsborough with her husband and two young children. In Gainsborough, she ran Pyrus Studio, a non-profit educational studio focusing on arts and crafts for all, with special courses for disabled adults and children.

Clio graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music where she gained her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Vocal & Opera Performance. She believes music is incredibly important for everyone, especially children, and as such has volunteered at a local children’s center running a music group and there are similar groups at Pyrus Studio. As a soprano, Clio performs in the UK and Europe, and frequently for charitable events.

Clio was a member of Gainsborough Town Council and sits on the community services committee. This committee was responsible for applying for the WREN funding and helped pick the equipment for the newly refurbished Richmond park in Gainsborough which brought £200,000 of funding into the town.

By championing a huge tree survey of the area, allowing the council to identify damaged trees, Clio was glad to see the council reducing the risks to the users of its sites. She is passionate about tree preservation and care of our green spaces and trees. As a Councillor, she is currently championing the need for more defibrillators in local communities.

Clio was a director of “Pass it on” a local Lincolnshire charity helping families in need, who through a variety of situations including domestic abuse and homelessness find themselves in desperate situations often with no clothes, furniture or basic living items. The charity steps in to help people get back on their feet and we’ve been very glad to assist several families living in different divisions in Lincolnshire. Clio is qualified to support parents that choose to use reusable (cloth) nappies and is a qualified breast feeding peer supporter for the area.

She wad the president of her local Women’s Institute, the Pyrus Pirates. Under her leadership, they have donated to and supported local charities and enjoy supporting local people and enterprises.

As a business owner, resident and parent living in Lincolnshire, the future growth and prosperity of our area is extremely important to Clio. She wants to help develop the thriving and dynamic county that she is proud to call home and make sure that the future is secure and successful for everyone.
Clio would like to thank you everyone for allowing her to be part of this incredible journey. I look forward to serving and contributing to the future of our County.
