Push for affordable housing, secure tenancies and fair pay
Marc is committed to ensuring our community gets the strong voice it deserves. Having been involved in the Penzance Citizen’s Panel on issues of housing and low pay, he wants to push for affordable housing, secure tenancies and fair pay by putting himself forward as a candidate for County Hall.

Marc has been selected as the Lib Dem candidate for the Penzance Prom ward

‘I would regard it as an honour and a privilege to have the chance to represent the area on Cornwall Council.

“I’m keen to promote initiatives in the creative and technology sectors to create secure, well-paid ‘year-round’ jobs here, and push for new ideas and amenities to make our Promenade more attractive and enjoyable for residents and visitors alike.’

Local campaigner and Lib Dem parliamentary spokesperson Andrew George said ‘Marc will be the strong voice the community needs.’

Marc would be happy to hear from any local residents by email on marc.hadley@stiveslibdems.org.uk or phone 07905 423602

Marc Hadley Wants to Hear From You About Future of New Prom
The Prom renovation work started in 2019 and is now largely completed. The facelift is only the first phase of a more ambitious plan being implemented by Cornwall Council and The Environment Agency.

Marc Hadley Wants to Hear From You About Future of New PromLocal Lib Dem campaigner Marc Hadley said, “It’s clear that thousands of residents cherish the Prom and care passionately about how it is maintained and how its links with the town’s past are preserved.

“In recent months I’ve had conversations with some of the many B & B businesses located along or back from the Prom. They have a crucial role in welcoming the many visitors to our town and make up a significant part of the economy of Penzance. One owner told me, ‘the Prom itself is better now, but we really need to see a better offer to the people who walk along it- a wider range of hospitality, amenities and catering.’ Others have said that they welcome the idea of ‘pop-up’ cafes and stalls, but point out that license charges to potential operators are too high.’”

There has already been a consultation exercise prior to the renovation project starting. Marc would love to hear ideas for innovative uses of the new Prom, from anyone who either uses it or would use it. Marc says, “It’s important that projects and innovations flow upwards from the community.”
