Statement to voters

Tracey Drew: Green Party candidate for Park Hill In 2019 you elected three Green Party Councillors on Warwick District Council and eight Green Party Councillors on Kenilworth Town Council.

Full statement

Here are three reasons to vote Green in 2021:
• Your Kenilworth Green Party Councillors have a strong record of action
• We can do even more for you with Tracey Drew elected as your County Councillor
• It's a straight choice here between Tracey and the Green Team, and the Conservatives

Tracey says ‘I have lived in our area for some time now and love Kenilworth. I am, therefore, thrilled to have been selected as your Green Party candidate for the County Council elections on May 6th. ‘

What have Greens in Park Hill achieved so far?
Only the local Green Party has a proven and responsible track record of year-round hard work:
• keeping you updated about what’s going on with our regular newsletter;
• listening to your concerns on the doorstep
• organising community clean ups
• helping to resolve many Park Hill residents’ problems including planning issues, social nuisance, unlawful fencing, tree problems, fly-tipping, dangerous gates, bramble invasion, poor pavement surfaces, potholes.
• successfully lobbying Warwick District Council to open Abbey Fields swimming pool this summer and keep it open right up to the time it’s demolished.
• leading the Town Council in freezing their part of the council tax while maintaining funding for local community groups at the same level as last year.
• leading the Town Council's Climate Emergency Working Group which quickly produced a roadmap of actions to benefit our residents, a plan for biodiversity and our environment.

We can do even more for you with a Green County Councillor. Tracey says:
• I want to address pavement parking and speeding on roads like Windy Arbour and Dalehouse Lane. Our County Council can and should do so much more to make getting around safer and easier for all of us.

• We are determined to preserve green spaces and the Green Belt. We have been consistently challenging the County Council’s decision to go ahead with the A46 spinal link road. If elected I will continue to push for credible and evidence-based alternatives to this plan.

• I know many share my concern that house building is fit for purpose for the 21st century. I am working with Green District Councillors pushing for a high quality development on the Leyes Lane school site with local residents’ involvement.

• I am clear that traffic budget and money from developers needs to be spent on local residents’ priorities. If elected I can make sure that you have a real say in how your money is spent - to make sure it is spent on your priorities.

Unlike other parties, Green Party councillors are not whipped so we are free to put residents and their views first and vote in your best interests.

It’s between me and the Conservatives in this election for Kenilworth Park Hill. People tell us they vote for who works hardest and achieves more locally. Whatever happens in Kenilworth Park Hill it’s likely the Conservatives will still lead Warwickshire County Council A Green voice will ensure the best decisions are made for our community.
