Statement to voters
Robert Mee has been a resident of West Hallam for almost 40 years.

He's been a member of the Liberal Democrats since 2015, after recognising the abysmal electoral system in our country.
From 2016 he has campaigned within the ward of West Hallam and Dale Abbey (which includes Stanley Common), and, for county council elections, in the wider area of Breadsall and West Hallam. He was elected as councillor for West Hallam and Dale Abbey on Erewash Borough Council in 2017. He is also a parish councillor in West Hallam, and is currently a member of the county's Police and Crime Panel.
As a community campaigner, Robert believes that activism over local issues is often more important than what is going on in government. He is passionate about environmental issues, and is currently opposing plans for development in several areas of Green Belt in the borough. He believes that communities should have a REAL say on the issues which affect them, but that they are normally ignored or taken for granted by elected councils.
Robert is a local historian, who gives talks on numerous subjects relating to the area. He is also a keen walker and geocacher.
