Statement to voters

Please vote for me to be your Derbyshire County Councillor.

Full statement

I am 59 years old and married to Jane. We have 5 adult children and 2 grandchildren. My hobbies are cycling, walking our two dogs and Classic Cars, particularly classic Minis.
In 2015 I took early retirement after 37 years working in the railway industry as a freight train driver delivering coal to the Trent Valley power stations. As a train driver I drove trains from Bolsover, Whitwell and Creswell collieries. I was the Chair of my Union branch and the union representative at Worksop Train Crew Depot.
For 20 years I was also a Non-Executive Director for Health Shield Friendly Society Ltd based in Crewe. My main role was to act as the members' representative on the Board of Directors.
Currently I am a Director and the Chairman of the 2Shires Credit Union based in Worksop. This is an unpaid voluntary position and I do not claim any expenses.
I have been representing and helping people for most of my adult life.
Please VOTE for me because I have the time, energy, experience and determination to be a great Councillor, who you can trust and rely on to represent you as a resident of Bolsover, Shuttlewood, Creswell, Whitwell, Elmton and Hodthorpe.
