- Ongoing Street Light repairs
Those that know me know I am a conscientious councillor with a passion for our community and Droitwich. After volunteering during the pandemic, I was able again to see how well our community comes together and I am keen to develop this:
- I am organising a Droitwich West summit with particular focus on Westlands to address some of the social inequalities and the physical environment and get agreed actions and timescales
- Like many I am concerned of the effect the pandemic will have on younger people and am running an initiative to introduce a town youth Centre and support
- Continue to support of local businesses as they try and recover and support our local economy
- Hold monthly meetings with Platform Housing to resolve resident concerns (such as Copcut Court maintenance, Steynors roundabout and parking on Westlands and Chawson)
I live in Droitwich and grew up on Chawson and have been an active member of our Droitwich community for many years attending both Westacre and the High school in my youth. I have worked in Marketing for a footsie 100 company and retrained with a PGCE to lecture in Business. I have been Town Mayor twice, past Chairman and currently deputy Leader of Wychavon:
- Chairman of Droitwich Area young people’s actions group
- Chairman of Droitwich united charities
- Founder of Friends of Droitwich Spa Lido (FODSL) after supporting the reopening of the Lido
- Set up Droitwich youth council
- Set up Droitwich Brine Heritage group which helped re-start Droitwich Salt
- Set up Droitwich Neighbourhood Plan Group but have completed my time as Chairman
I am passionate about our Town Heritage and support a new Brine baths and retention of the Raven hotel heritage but also want to ensure the Town gets the infra-structure it needs with an increasing population and held a public meeting to get a focus on this.
There are several exciting areas ahead with a regeneration of our Town centre and I want to ensure Droitwich West is very much part of this exciting future after all the difficult times we have experienced. We need to put the Spa rkle back into Droitwich and improve connectivity.
I work effectively with your Conservative District and Town Councillors to get results.
I give a local voice for local people; I am an active and proactive councillor and would welcome your support.
