The government has passed legislation to postpone all elections until 6 May 2021.
Statement to voters
Mark Clark, 62, is a Director of a crisis communication company based in Kensington, London which concentrates on the shipping and offshore sector.
He lives with his wife and two teenage sons in Hythe.
He has worked in local and national radio; owned and run music stores; worked for the Met Office and a large defence company and engaged in politics throughout.
Before starting his own business, he spent 20 years working within Government communications and spent considerable time working with Ministers at the Department of Health and the No 10 Press Office.
He was Head of Communications at the Maritime & Coastguard Agency based in Southampton for 15 years.
He is currently a Parish Councillor for Furzedown Ward in Hythe, but in the past was a Town and County Councillor in Thatcham, Berkshire, chairing various committees on the principal Authority when the Liberal Democrats took over from the (then) outgoing Conservative Administration.
