The reason I am standing in this election is to make sure Stock division has a voice when it comes to getting things done. There is a growing number of Independent councillors everywhere, they are not political and represent their residents not a party. I have a very long list of references some are over 4 years old, from Essex County Council. These are still not resolved, ranging from potholes, lining on roads, school enquiries, footpaths etc. If elected I want to make sure this is a list of jobs done - not still to do. I also want to promote more investment into Youth Services in Essex, too much is relied on the fantastic team of volunteers, but they need to be backed by serious investment. I am committed to keeping libraries open and free from being sold off. Longer term, I believe Adult Social Care should be a responsibility of the NHS funded by Central Government, and not which post code you happen to live in. Nearly half of the budget at Essex County Council is spent on this care. It is then spun off to the private sector for shareholder profit. This is quite simply, wrong.
