Statement to voters

Shropshire's beautiful County Town has been let down by our politicians. I want to be a real local champion for the town I grew up in - and build a brighter future.

As MP I will campaign to make Shrewsbury carbon neutral by 2030. I will fight to secure the future of the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and our family doctors. I will fight to end the systematic under-funding our county schools have faced over a decade. And I will campaign for more investment in our trains, buses and cycleways.

The tragedy of Brexit is that it has paralysed our Government - and our MP. We need a clear and unambiguous referendum - in which I will support Remain - and get on to tackle the real issues, especially climate change.

If we stop Brexit, our economy will be stronger and we will have billions more for better public services and to decarbonise our transport, industry and homes.
