Statement to voters

I have lived in the Camberwell and Peckham constituency for 15 years. I'm a writer and researcher, working on access to theatre for blind and partially sighted audiences. I joined the Green Party to stand up for social justice and take action to look after the wider world.
In Camberwell and Peckham, we suffer health problems from noise and air pollution. I have been campaigning for action from Southwark Council, including carrying out two air pollution studies and campaigning to make walking and cycling safer. But this is not enough. We need an MP who opposes new runways – for our health, and to put a brake on dangerous climate change.
In 2016, I campaigned with local people from many different parties (and none) to remain in the EU and to reform it. We need an MP who will refuse to push the self-destruct button labelled ‘Brexit’ and will represent Southwark’s diverse communities.
I fiercely oppose the imposition of 'austerity' policies on the most vulnerable in our society. I will defend both the substance and principle of social housing and of the National Health Service. I am inspired by Green Party policies that speak to our most fundamental concerns and offer a real alternative.
