Statement to voters
I have lived in this area all my life and I am active in my community raising awareness of wellbeing and giving advice to residents. I am aware of the issues such as poor health, pollution, crime, cuts to youth services and lack of affordable housing all of which affect the quality of life of all residents in Brent especially the next generation.
I’m of the generation who had to pay for their education, the people who can’t afford to buy a house and suffer from high rents. If its tough for us now, whats it going to be like for future generations?
My daily life working with different groups such as young people, elders and people with disabilities has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the impact cuts to funding has had on the quality of life for the most vulnerable in society. This awareness has motivated and mobilised me into action.
