Statement to voters
I am standing in the election to ensure local people can vote Liberal Democrat. I am also standing to provide a positive alternative to the two larger parties. I have a great deal of experience at local government level having first been elected in 1981. I have also already created a government policy. In 2010 I was the author of the Lib Dem flagship policy - raising the point people would start paying income tax. In Coalition this became government policy lifting 4 million people out of paying Income Tax.
