Statement to voters
Here we go again. Another election
While you are probably as fed up as I am there has never been a more important time to make your voice heard.
You only have to look at the direction, in which the UK, and in particular Northern Ireland is being taken. At Westminster, the Government - supported by some local MPs - is heading towards a recklessly hard Brexit, while other parties at Stormont are risking devolution, plunging public services into chaos.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
Alliance exists to change the direction of our society; towards a society that engages positively with our nearest neighbours and the rest of the world, towards a progressive, vibrant and prosperous communities.
That's my kind of politics.
I was elected to Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council in 2014. I have advocated for greater Council use of shared space, successfully ensuring major events are open to all. I am passionate about the environment and I've been active on local issues including the No Creevy Quarry campaign.
I am a member of the local PCSP, and I sit as the council representative on the boards of the Northern Ireland Museums Council and the Lagan Navigation Trust.
On June 8th, vote to change direction, vote Alliance, vote McIntyre in Lagan Valley.
Let's change things. For good.
