Full statement

He has lived in Grimsby all his life and understands the history and issues of the area . He believes that now more than ever a Green alternative is required locally and nationally focusing specifically on affordable housing, sustainable local business, the climate emergency, renewable energy and jobs that pay a living wage. Loyd wants to see the town and it’s local communities thrive, and believes that he can be a strong voice for the residents of Grimsby representing and speaking up for all backgrounds.

Loyd has previously stood for election in the South Ward on NE Lincs Council where he still passionately campaigns and takes direct action. He also stood for the Cleethorpes Constituency in 2017 in addition to being a Parish Councillor in Laceby. Loyd has campaigned for many years on many issues both locally and nationally including: Against the traveller sites in local Grimsby neighbourhoods, The unfair rise in council tax, Child Poverty, The Climate Emergency, Animal Welfare, A People’s Vote, Tax evasion, Waste management and supporting our local businesses.
As a Green MP Loyd pledges to carry on campaigning strongly for all of the above plus the issues of cheaper transport, cleaner air to breathe and proper jobs that pay a living wage instead of zero hours contracts. He will also work hard to safeguard our NHS, re-nationalise our railways, protect our environment and for communities to have a more powerful voice in order for them to thrive.
