Statement to voters

On 5 May 2022 I’m standing for election to Leeds City Council as the Green Party candidate for Alwoodley.

Full statement

I'm not standing in Alwoodley because we have any chance of beating the Tory incumbents this year, but because Alwoodley's voters still deserve a chance to show that they want the fairer, cleaner and greener city that Leeds could be.

A vote for the Green Party in our first-past-the-post voting system may not get you a green councillor in 2022, but it does tell your local party that VOTERS ARE OUT THERE --- and if we see a groundswell of interest in a ward, we can start a serious campaign. So a Green vote in Alwoodley isn't a vote wasted; it's a vote for the future :-)
