Statement to voters
It is an honour and privilege to be the Conservative Party’s candidate for Paddock Wood West in the forthcoming Borough Council elections on 2nd May.
I have lived in the local area for over 15 years and run a successful business here. I have two children who attended four local schools, including both grammar and comprehensive secondary schools. I have also spent time commuting to London as well as working in the local area.
I am a Conservative because I believe the party provides a safe pair of hands to run our town and borough. We understand the needs and concerns of local residents. But we can also work with the local businesses that we need to create job opportunities for local people and a prosperous, well-resourced community.
There are undoubtedly challenges ahead, partly as retail spending continues to shift online. But I believe the Conservatives are the only party with a positive, credible long-term plan for dealing with these challenges at a local level.
There is also intense pressure to build new housing. But we must build our local community, not just new homes. So, if elected, I will press for improvements to local facilities and infrastructure to ensure our existing residents are not disadvantaged.
I very much hope to be able to serve the local community and work with residents to improve Paddock Wood. So please vote Conservative.
