Born and brought up in Gipton I I later lived in Seacroft for over 30 years and now live in Garforth.

I attended the former Parklands Girls’ High School and later worked at the school and at Leeds East Academy. In 2015 I was elected as a Labour councillor for Killingbeck and Seacroft but became disillusioned with Labour and resigned from the party, chiefly due to Labour cutting local dementia services while spending millions on vanity projects - I believe that the party has lost touch with the electorate and no longer represents its traditional core voters in places like Leeds East. I joined the SDP because I believe their sensible practical policies offer a real alternative to the failed two party political monopoly and to offer voters a choice. If elected I would be proud to represent Leeds East.
