Statement to voters

I am a committed community campaigner, intending to challenge the Council’s unfair fining of residents at Surbiton Crescent with new evidence.

Full statement

I want to put residents before politics.

MY 10 POINT PLAN FOR GROVE WARD

Hold regular monthly surgeries for residents and business, and start a quarterly newsletter for residents

Put action plans in to make officers and Councillors to engage more with residents

Put in place a review to reduce the number of managers and directors particularly those only contracted to the council.

Explore disposal of the empty Conquest House and close down the Tories “property speculation” business to reinvest the £3m annual saving in essential services and staff.

Increase resident services with more local community focused services, such as activating schemes for our older residents to pass on their experiences  to  our younger residents.

We will work with the university to explore if there are alternative uses for their surplus accommodation, such as reduced rent accommodation, to make living in rented accommodation Grove Ward more easy - no matter if you are young or old.

Immediately conduct a review of the NSL parking contract, which started in July 2017, and is still proving to be controversial, despite the written formal apology about their performance in September 2017.

Lobby for all new commercial developments to guarantee permanent lower rent space for small businesses or start ups.

Ensure there is a balance between the night time economy and residents’ quality of life.  The council has an 8 point plans to help those who cause anti social behaviour but nothing for suffering residents . All current Grove Ward councillors know this but have not tried to shift the balance.

We welcome the recent Culture funding from the Mayor and want to encourage culture and arts so all residents can take part.
