Statement to voters
My name is Mat McDonnell and I was raised in Hastings. I was educated, work and live here with my family; it’s my home. I have seen it continue to change for the good and the bad and want to help make it a better place to live for everyone here in these challenging times. We need improvements in many areas of our Hastings lives including key areas of transport, town planning and food systems. The Green Party have the policies and attitude to tackle these pressing issues and what they are proposing will substantially benefit our economy, our health and our well being for the long term. I would never have considered being a Councillor, I thought this was somebody else's job, but seeing the serious problems that we all face – whether its the rising cost of living, an unwanted badly designed development on your doorstep or a lack of serious alternatives to driving a car – I'd like you to give me and the Green Party in West St Leonard’s the opportunity to help understand and tackle these problems for us all.
