Statement to voters

I am a passionate and energetic champion for Woolwich Common (which includes some of Plumstead as well) and have campaigned tirelessly for quality public services, more social housing, tackling rogue landlords, improving air quality and community facilities. Big achievements are the new Plumcroft school in Vincent Road (due to open in September), the transformation of the Barnfield estate, a new ball court in the WC estate and a new children's playground on the Armstrong estate. We are committed to rebuilding the Woolwich Common Community Centre and a new cyclepath from the town centre through to the hospital down Brookhill, the back of the WC estate and over the Common). On a wider scale, I have been a champion for the London Living Wage to tackle poverty and for more funding for our NHS. I will campaign to preserve and enhance Woolwich's heritage, to bring new life into the town centre and to ensure any new developments are community-led for local people, not developer-led.
