Statement to voters

I am a Liberal Democrat ward Councillor for Saddleworth North (elected in May 2012), Shadow Cabinet member for Education and Skills and a Councillor on Saddleworth Parish Council (2011-2015).

I have been a school governor at Holy Trinity C.E. Dobcross Primary School (2012-2015) and am the Youth Champion for Saddleworth

I studied Mathematics at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) and then a Post Graduate Certificate in in Secondary Mathematics Education at the University of Manchester.

I have worked in Education since 2003 as a Maths teacher and now intervention and SEN support for students with learning and behaviour difficulties. In addition I have assisted a local Liberal Democrat MP and constituents with a variety of local and national issues.

I am a keen enthusiast for local decisions to be devolved to the local community. I want to help to improve our community by working with local people so that they have more of a say on what goes on in Saddleworth. I welcome their views because, by listening to their concerns and views, action can be taken.

My Liberal Democrat ward colleagues and I have an excellent working relationship to stand up for Saddleworth and work for a stronger economy in a fairer society enabling everyone to get on in life. We work as a team to raise issues on behalf of the residents and improve our area both locally and lobby our colleagues in government.

I am proud to represent the residents of Saddleworth.
