Statement to voters
As a result of our petition Hounslow Council have now declared a Climate Emergency. They are now preparing an Action Plan, and we need to ensure that this plan is specific, measurable, realistic and time based. Hounslow needs a Green Party councillor to hold the Council to account!
Heston West also needs a Green representative in Council who cares deeply about the local area. In my conversations with residents, the main issues are rubbish and fly tipping; roads - people drive too fast, putting children and the elderly at risk; Noise: Heathrow expansion will add to noise, air pollution, congestion and carbon emissions; Crime: drugs, thefts and anti-social behaviour. These will be my priorities too!
I am a writer and teacher who came to this country over 40 years ago as an asylum seeker. I have fought against racism all my life, and am dedicated to aggressively representing all the residents of Hounslow West.
