Statement to voters

My name is Stephan Fifield, I live in a village outside Tetbury, and I’m honoured to be standing as your candidate in the Gloucestershire County Council elections on the 1st of May.

Full statement

You may have seen my previous leaflets or social media updates campaigning for better roads, tackling flooding, supporting local projects like Tetbury's Christmas, and protecting our countryside.

Service has always been at the heart of what I do. Growing up in a military family, I learned the importance of duty and commitment, values that have shaped my career in defence, keeping our country safe. As a former councillor, I know how to get things done for local people. I am dedicated to working tirelessly for Tetbury and its surrounding villages.

The future of Gloucestershire is also at stake at this election, the Liberal Democrats want to split Gloucestershire into two, an East and West, that means two highways departments and double the bureaucrats - I don’t think that’s right.

If you vote for me, you’ll be electing someone who will:
• Put Tetbury and its villages first – I will fight for better roads, pavements, and local services, ensuring we get our fair share. I will always push for lower taxes and better value for money in local services, making sure every pound is spent wisely.
• Deliver for our community – From securing funding for Tetbury’s Christmas to backing plans for a new recreational centre, I will stand up for local priorities and make things happen. I’ve already set up a local road task force to look at potholes, roads and road safety, and I’ve got a chunk of Tetbury Road resurfaced, and I won’t stop there.
• Be a strong voice for you – I understand the challenges facing rural communities, from unreliable public transport to access to healthcare and local policing. I will work relentlessly with parishes, councillors, and residents to get the investment and services our area deserves.

I hope to earn your support on the 1st of May.
